Shri Sushilkumar Shinde is the Hon'ble  Union Minister of Power.

Shri K.C Venugopal is the Hon'ble Minister of State for Power.

Distribution of the work between the Minister of Power and Minister of State for Power in the Ministry of Power:-

(A) Subject related to which the files would terminate at the level of Minister of State for Power:

  1. Unstarred Questions and Assurances;
  2. SC/ST Welfare;
  3. Seminars and Conferences;
  4. Implementation of Official Language;
  5. Environment and Forests related matters in Power Projects;
  6. All matters related to NPTI, CPRI, CEA except policy matters and recruitments;
  7. Resettlement and Rehabilitation of displaced persons in Power Projects;
  8. Audit Paras;
  9. Appointment of Estate Officers in CPSUs;
  10. Any other specific responsibility assigned by Minister of Power

(B) Subject related to which the files to be submitted to Minister of Power through Minister of State for Power:-

  1. RGGVY;
  2. R-APDRP;
  3. Energy Conservation;
  4. Annual / Five Year Plan;
  5. Standing Committee on Energy;
  6. Budget and Finance;
  7. Other Parliamentary Committees;
  8. Legislations pertaining to Energy Sector;
  9. Starred Questions;
  10. Policy matters relating to NPTI & CPRI.

(C) All papers and files related to remaining subjects will be submitted to the Minister of Power directly.

Shri P. Uma Shankar is the Secretary(Power). He is assisted by two Additional Secretaries and Six Joint Secretaries including the Financial Adviser.
